Employees’ Compensation Commission-Regional Extension Unit No. 12 recently apprised public teachers and PNP personnel from Cotabato about the benefits and services of the Employees’ Compensation Program (ECP) in the event of a work-related contingencies.

At least thirty four faculty and staff of Tantangan National High School in Tantangan, South Cotabato, ninety eight teaching and non-teaching personnel of Tacurong Pilot Elementary School in Tacurong City, Sultan Kudarat participated in an orientation on the ECP conducted by ECC-REU 12 in two batches last January.

Meanwhile, personnel of PNP Pikit Municipal Station in Pikit North Cotabato also participated in the EC Program seminar in a separate occasion last month.

“It’s a new program for us that’s why we need to be informed on this,” stated Pikit PNP Chief Donald C. Cabigas, who have been very eager to have the said orientation since last year. His twenty six uniformed and non-uniformed personnel were present during the orientation including the wife of a policeman who was an ambush victim in Maguindanao.

The ECP is a social insurance program designed to provide workers and/or their beneficiaries with income benefits, medical, and other benefits in the event of work-related sickness, injury, or death. It also provides rehabilitation services for qualified persons with work-related disabilities.
