The ECC Regional Extension Unit 13 successfully conducted two orientation activities about the Employees’ Compensation Program (ECP) to Bachelor Express Inc. employees in January 2018.

Sixty bus operators, conductors and the company nurse attended the ECP orientation seminar. Discussion focused on the three (3) components of the EC Program, namely, prevention, rehabilitation, and compensation. After the seminar, participants asked questions concerning actual cases falling within the ECC’s list of compensable diseases.

“The lively exchange showed the participants interest to gain more knowledge about the ECP,” said Sandee Angeli V. Mocorro who conducted the orientation.

Conducting on-site orientation seminar is an integral part of the ECC in strengthening awareness and understanding of workers and employers about the ECP. The ECC’s Regional Extension Units all over the country continue to foster linkages and connections with various stakeholders in conducting this important activity.

The ECC conducted the orientation because it has noticed that bus operators and conductors are prone to hypertension and vehicular accidents, as shown in the EC logbook maintained by Jonathan A. Ganaban, the Company Nurse.

The robust business environment in Butuan City is continually luring investor, resulting in the rise of new establishments. This favorably creates demand for additional new transportation buses and hence, additional work force for the Bachelor Express Inc.
