The Employees’ Compensation Commission will start its nationwide free-of-charge orientation on the Employees’ Compensation Program (ECP) for all SM mall employees.
The orientation which was requested by the Shopping Center Management Corporation’s Human Resources Manager Antonette L. Asi will boost awareness on the rights and benefits of the staff, management and tenants of all SM malls in the Philippines. The said orientation will start in Bacolod and Iloilo this February. The same activities will be conducted in other parts of the Philippines as well.
The ECP’s prevention, compensation and rehabilitation services will be presented, where strict compliance on the occupational safety and health standards will be highlighted as priority.
“Our effort in reaching employers as well as the workers is in pursuance of our agency’s mission to inform workers of their rights, benefits and privileges under the EC Program,” said ECC Executive Director Stella Zipagan-Banawis.
She added that good labor-management relation is a give and take process; if the management is sensitive with the welfare of their workers, it will foster productivity and industrial peace.
Other interested companies and establishments may contact the ECC at 899-4251 to 52 or our Regional Extension Units in their respective Regions for a free ECP seminar.
The ECP provides a compensation package to private and public workers or their dependents in the event of work-related contingencies.
