The Employees’ Compensation Commission (ECC) will conduct an Employees’ Compensation Advocacy Seminar for public and private sector employers, human resource managers and labor union officers on 28 May 2019 at La Vista Highlands Mountain Resort in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, which is aimed at increasing awareness on the rights, benefits and privileges under the Employees’ Compensation Program (ECP).
Among the topics to be discussed during the seminar are the EC Program Reform Agenda anchored on the “3Es”- Equalization, Enhancement & Expansion of EC benefits, in response to the challenges facing the EC Program; and the three components of the EC Program namely- the prevention, compensation and rehabilitation services.
Executive Director Stella Zipagan-Banawis said that the ECC has been using various quad-media platforms to boost awareness on the ECP. “Still our stakeholders clamored for the conduct of ECP Advocacy Seminars in the regions, that is why we are conducting this activity in close coordination with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) to reach as many workers and employers as possible,” added Banawis.
