The Employees’ Compensation Commission, in close partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment Region 2, will hold an Employees’ Compensation Program Advocacy Seminar at Hotel Roma in Tuguegarao City, on January 27, 2016. This is in line with ECC’s objective to intensify awareness on the EC Program.

ECC Executive Director Stella Zipagan-Banawis said that “this will be the first ECP Advocacy Seminar for CY 2016 and we aim to conduct seven more ECP seminars in various regions nationwide this year.”

The one-day, free of charge seminar, will focus mainly on the three components of the EC Program namely – the prevention, compensation and rehabilitation services including the ECC-Quick Response and the Katulong at Gabay sa Manggagawang may Kapansanan or KaGabay Program. Recent EC Program reforms will likewise be discussed.

The seminar will be participated by more than 120 human resource officers, employer-owners and labor union representatives coming from various private enterprises and government agencies from nearby areas in Tuguegarao City.

In addition, the uniformed personnel of the Philippine National Police (PNP), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), Philippine Navy, Philippine Air Force and their civilian personnel are also invited to attend this activity.

There will also be a consultation meeting with the Social Security System and Government Service Insurance System to update officers on new policies and procedures on the Employees’ Compensation Program in order to facilitate processing of EC claims.
