The Employees’ Compensation Commission (ECC), together with DOLE Region 1, will conduct an Employees’ Compensation Program (ECP) and DOLE Livelihood and Skills Seminar at Laoag City, on June 27, 2013. This is in line with the ECC’s objective to intensify awareness on the ECP and various programs of the DOLE.

The advocacy seminar is pursuant to Labor Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz’s directive to strengthen linkages between the DOLE attached agencies and regional offices, for an efficient and convenient implementation of the DOLE programs and projects. It is also a mode of information dissemination to keep the public abreast of the social protection and safe work programs available to them.

The ECC Team will be discussing the three main components of the EC Program; Prevention, Compensation, and Rehabilitation services. In addition to these, a portion of the seminar will be allotted to the various livelihood and skills programs implemented by DOLE, which will be presented by a representative of DOLE Region 1.

A day prior to said activity, on June 26, 2013, a press conference will be held for the media practitioners, with the end in view of soliciting press releases and media mileage to promote the Employees’ Compensation Program in the region.

More than a hundred participants, composed of HR officers,   union representatives and employers from various companies in Laoag City and nearby provinces are expected to attend.

The seminar is free of charge.
