The Employees’ Compensation Commission (ECC), an attached agency of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), together with DOLE-RO5, will conduct an Employees’ Compensation Program (ECP) and DOLE Livelihood and Skills Seminar   in Hotel Saint Ellis, Legazpi City on 24 May 2012 for at least 100 companies located in Bicol Region and nearby provinces to increase awareness on the ECP and various services of the DOLE.

The advocacy seminar is in pursuance to Labor Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz’s directive to strengthen linkages between attached agencies and DOLE regional offices for harmonious and synchronized implementation of DOLE programs and projects and for the accessibility of social protection and safe work through information campaign in accordance with “The Philippine Labor and Employment Plan 2011-2016- Inclusive Growth through Decent and Productive Work.”

Executive Director Stella Zipagan-Banawis will lead the ECC team. She will give the opening remarks, focusing on the three aspects of the EC Program: the prevention, the compensation, and the rehabilitation services. A detailed presentation will be discussed by the ECC doctor and information officer on these matters.

Welcome remarks will be delivered by DOLE 5 Regional Director Nathaniel V. Lacambra. Part of the session will be a thorough discussion on the various livelihood programs and services of the DOLE under the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program.

At least 45 media practitioners in Bicol Region are expected to attend the press briefing to intensify awareness on the EC Program and DOLE Livelihood and Skills Program.
