Davao City – The Employees’ Compensation Commission (ECC) joined the Bureau of Fire Protection-Deputy Chief Financial Officer’s (BFP-DCFO) 2023 Women Convention themed “Women Helping Women” on April 21, 2023, at Pinnacle Hotel, Davao City. The celebration was designed to highlight the contribution of Female Fire Officers in Nation Building by ensuring the preservation of the lives and properties of the people.

In the performance of their duties, fire officers would sometimes suffer from sickness, injuries, and even death. Thus, entitlement to benefits available under the EC Program were timely discussed during the event which was attended by more than 100 fire officers.

“Inherent in the empowerment of women is the guarantee that should contingencies transpire in the performance of service, benefits such as those provided by ECC will be promptly granted,” ECC Information Officer Albert Bantan expressed in his presentation.

FO 3 Marian Bio, one of the attendees said that, “I now understand that despite our separation from the GSIS, we remained to be part of the EC Program, the benefits of which are granted through its administering agency, the GSIS.”

ECC assured the participants that they can count on the EC Program once there is a work-related contingency.
