The Employees’ Compensation Commission (ECC) will conduct its first Employees’ Compensation Program Advocacy Seminar in Tabaco City- The City of Love, on May 19, 2016 at The Concourse Convention Center 2, to increase EC Program awareness in the Province of Albay.
The one-day, free of charge seminar, is in line with ECC’s objective to promote ECP awareness in the regions. The ECC’s massive info campaign was conceptualized to address the low level awareness of the workers, as well as their employers, on the Employees’ Compensation Program.
The seminar will focus on the three major components of the EC Program namely- the prevention, compensation and the rehabilitation services and the recent EC Program reforms. These reforms are anchored on “3Es”- Equalized, Enhanced and Expanded” strategy to respond to the challenges facing the EC Program.
Aside from a thorough discussion on the package of EC Program benefits to public and private sector employees in the event of work-connected sickness, injury or death, the various programs, projects and services of DOLE Region 5- Field Office will also be discussed in seminar.
The seminar will be attended by more than 120 participants composed of human resource officers, union representatives, employers and workers in private establishments and the government sector including uniformed personnel of the Philippine National Police (PNP), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), Philippine Navy, Philippine Air Force and their civilian personnel.
On May 18, 2016, a press conference in coordination with the DOLE Reg. 5, is arranged at Hotel St. Ellis, Legazpi City to impart the EC Program to the media.
A consultation meeting with the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) and Social Security System (SSS) officers is likewise scheduled on May 19, 2016 to update officers on the recent EC Program policies in order to facilitate processing of EC claims.
