The Employees’ Compensation Commission (ECC) will kick-off its Calendar Year 2019 nationwide Employees Compensation Program advocacy seminar on January 29, 2019 at Hue Hotels & Resorts in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.
The first of a series of ECP advocacy seminars for this year is made possible in close coordination with the DOLE Region 4B and DOLE Palawan Field Office. The one-day free of charge seminar is in line with ECC’s aim to promote ECP awareness in the regions. More than 150 employers, human resource and administrative officers and labor union presentratives from both public and private sectors are expected to attend the said activity.
Topics to be discussed are the three components of the EC Program namely: prevention, compensation and rehabilitation services. These components play a major role in effectively and efficiently delivering a comprehensive package of benefits and services to workers who suffer from work-related sickness or injury or their beneficiaries in case of work-related death.
This is in line with Executive Director Stella Zipagan-Banawis directive to cascade the EC Program to the grassroots and to keep the public abreast of the social protection and safe work programs available to workers.
As a prelude to the said activity, a press conference, in coordination with the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Region 4B is set on January 28, 2019, at the same hotel venue, to impart the EC Program to the media practitioners of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan and promote the ECP thru quad-media.
The Employees’ Compensation Program (ECP) is a government program designed to provide a compensation package to public and private employees or their dependents in the event of work-related sickness, injury or death.
