The Employees’ Compensation Commission (ECC), in close coordination with the DOLE Region 8, will hold its 1st Employees’ Compensation Program Advocacy Seminar in the Province of Samar  on April 28, 2016 at the New Maqueda Bay Hotel and Restaurant in Catbalogan City. This one-day free of charge seminar  is in line with ECC’s objective to promote ECP awareness in the regions.

The seminar will focus on components of the EC Program namely – the prevention, compensation and the rehabilitation Services and  the recent EC Program reforms which are considered as the ECC’s ultimate strategies. These strategies are anchored on “3Es”- Equalized, Enhanced and Expand reforms to answer the   challenges facing the EC Program.

    Aside from  a thorough discussion on the package of EC Program benefits to public and private sector employees in the event of work-connected contingencies, sickness, injury or death,  time will also be allotted for  the promotion of the various programs, projects and services of DOLE Region 8 – Field Office.

The seminar will be participated by more than 120 participants composed of human resource officers, union representatives, employers and workers in the government sector and private establishments including uniformed personnel  of the Philippine National Police (PNP), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), Philippine Navy, Philippine Air Force and their civilian personnel are also invited to attend this activity.

A consultation meeting with the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) and Social Security System (SSS) officers is  likewise scheduled on April 27, 2016 to update on the recent ECC policies in order to facilitate processing of EC claims.
