The Employees’ Compensation Commission will conduct a free advocacy seminar on May 28, 2015, at the Ormoc Villa Resort  in Ormoc City.

This free seminar aims not only to increase public awareness on the EC Program but also to encourage employees and  employers to build and sustain a culture of safety and healthful environment in the work place.

The three components of the EC Program – the prevention, compensation and rehabilitation services, will be thoroughly discussed on the seminar.

More than 120 participants who are human resource officers, employers, and labor unions officers coming from different private establishments, government agencies including uniformed personnel from the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine National Police, Philippine Navy, Bureau of Fire Protection from  nearby areas in Ormoc City, are expected to attend .

There will also be a presscon in coordination with the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Region 8. Media practitioners are invited to impart the ECP to their listeners, viewers and followers in Ormoc City.

In addition, a consultation meeting with the Social Security System and Government Service Insurance System representatives will take place a day prior to the event to improve compliance with PD 626, as amended and rules of procedures on disposition of the EC claims and to resolve issues in the implementation of the EC Program.

The ECC is a government agency mandated by law to provide meaningful and appropriate compensation to workers in the event of work-related contingencies.
