Nabunturan, ComVal – The Employees’ Compensation Commission Regional Extension Unit XI, in cooperation with the Philippine Information Agency, conducted an Employees’ Compensation Program (ECP) seminar on 31 January 2018 at Café Noventa in Nabunturan, Compostela Valley Province, also known as the Golden Capital of the Philippines

The workshop aimed to increase awareness of the three major components of the EC Program namely – prevention, compensation and rehabilitation services. It also discussed the recent program reforms of the ECC anchored on the “3Es”- Equalize, Enhance and Expand strategy in response to the challenges facing the EC Program.

The said seminar was participated in by more than 60 participants composed of administrative and information officers from various local government units and national government agencies.

ECC Regional Officer Albert A. Bantan also discussed the ECP on-air through Aksyon ComVal Teleradyo.

ECC Executive Director Stella Zipagan-Banawis said that the conduct of the ECP seminar in the province of Compostela Valley promotes ECC’s thrust to ensure that all employees in private and public sectors in the entire region are cognizant of the programs of the Commission.

“The activity is an efficient way of addressing queries on the benefits of the workers under the ECP,” she added.

During the seminar, Marilou M. Amura of LGU Monkayo stressed that one of her co-workers died in the line of his duty but was unable to benefit the programs of ECC due to lack of information. “We are grateful that this seminar is held because we are now well-informed of our privileges under the EC programs,” she said.
