The Employees’ Compensation Commission (ECC) intensified the dissemination of information on the EC Program among men and women of the 39th Infantry Battalion, Philippine Army, at Brgy Poblacion in Makilala, North Cotabato on May 06, 2022.

A total of 57 enlisted and non-enlisted Philippine Army’s personnel attended the hybrid orientation seminar, where some of the participants were battle casualties recuperating from their work connected injuries.

Lieutenant Colonel Ezra L. Balagtey INF (GSC), 39IB Commander, echoed the significance of the information drive to the men and women in the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), “This embodies the administration’s thrust to further its resolve in ensuring the welfare of uniformed personnel. It surely boosts my men’s dedication to duty,” he added.

The activity was conducted in light of the ECC’s commitment to widen its reach pursuant to the Memorandum of Agreement concluded between ECC and Armed Forces of the Philippines on August 17, 2020, at Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo, Quezon City.

ECC will continue its pursuit in making its program more tangible among the members of the AFP through effective awareness drive,” ECC Executive Director Stella Zipagan-Banawis said. She added that a number of AFP members were able to claim their EC benefits over the contingencies they encountered in the past because of our heightened information drive throughout the country.

ECC recognized the crucial role of the AFP in forging genuine development throughout the country and the corollary risks they faced in carrying out such role. Hence, it behoves the ECC to further their protection which must commence with awareness on the EC Program.
