The Employees’ Compensation Commission (ECC), together with other Department of Environment and Natural Resources’ (DENR) partner organizations, has received a recognition for its zealous participation in various volunteer projects and special events of the agency at the Seameo Innotech in Quezon City on 5 December 2018.
More than fifty organizations, including government agencies and government owned and controlled corporations, local government units from Metro Manila, academic communities, private establishments and National Government Organizations received a certificate of appreciation.
DENR Undersecretary for Solid Waste Management and LGU Concerns Benny Antiporda said during the awarding ceremony that the DENR recognizes not only the act of volunteerism of partner agencies, but also encourages more organizations and individuals to help protect the environment.
“We are always willing to participate in DENR’s pursuit for sustainable development as we recognize the fact that a well preserve environment is necessary in having healthy and productive workers,” ECC Executive Director Stella Zipagan Banawis said.
The Land Bank of the Philippines, as well as the Government Service Insurance System, among other GOCCs, received a certificate of appreciation from the DENR on that day.
The recognition is in line with the DENRs celebration of December as the National Volunteer Month.
