The Employees’ Compensation Commission joined the city government of Zamboanga City in the one-stop-shop registration of employers and their ‘kasambahay’ to enforce the mandatory requirement under Republic Act No. 10361, otherwise known as, “An Act Instituting Policies for the Protection and Welfare of Domestic Workers,” on July 28, 2013, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm at Barangay Sta. Maria, Zamboanga City.

The one-day activity was a joint effort of the government agencies involved in the implementation of the said law, such as the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PHIC), Social Security System (SSS), Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMF), Employees’ Compensation Commission (ECC), City Government of Zamboanga, and the Barangay Councils of the different barangays in Zamboanga City.

The said activity aims to provide convenience to the residents of the city in the registration of the employers and their domestic workers, to provide a single venue wherein they can also process other requirements from different government agencies.

An orientation on the salient features of R.A. 10361, relevant services and social benefits provided by various agencies, like the EC Program, were likewise presented to the participants.
