The Employees’ Compensation Commission will be at Koronadal City on September18, 2014 to conduct an advocacy seminar for free at The Farm @ Carpenter Hill, Koronadal City.

The advocacy seminar aims to equip employers and employees representatives with knowledge on the social security benefits for work-related injury, sickness, disability or death.

ECC is inviting about 200 HR officers, union representatives and employers from different industries, representatives of various government  agencies including uniformed personnel from Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection and Bureau of Jail Management and Penology to attend the free admission seminar.

ECC will discuss the importance of accident prevention and safety in the workplace, compensation benefits and rehabilitation services for workers who met work-related injuries or sickness.

The ECC is mandated by law to provide meaningful and appropriate compensation to workers in the event of work-related contingencies. Its main functions are to formulate policies and guidelines for the effective implementation of the ECP, to review and decide on EC claims denied by the SSS or the GSIS and to initiate policies and programs towards adequate occupational health and safety and accident prevention in the work environment.
