Ormoc City – The Employees’ Compensation Commissionhas formally forged partnerships with the OSPA Farmer’s Medical Center for the strengthening of the Katulong at GabaysaManggagawang may Kapansanan Programin Region 8.

Starting November this year, free rehabilitation services can be availed by persons with work-related disabilities with approved claims under the Employees’ Compensation Program at the OSPA Farmer’s Medical Center located at Ormoc City, Leyte.

With the goal of serving and protecting the Filipino working men from work-related injuries, illnesses and death, the ECC is aggressively pushing its three core programs, namely prevention, compensation and rehabilitation.

The KaGabay Program, which is a rehabilitation services, provides physical restoration through the provision of free physical and occupational therapy sessions to persons with work-related disabilities (PWRDs).

Under the said program, the PWRDs may also undergo skills training for re-employment and entrepreneurship depending on their capacities in the hope of helping them regain their confidence so that they will be active members of the country’s workforce once again.

“With its intensified information drive and continued partnerships with several institutions, the ECC is now becoming a strongholdin harnessing a culture of safety and security in the country,” Executive Director Stella Zipagan-Banawis explained.

Banawis added that through stringent convergence programs with the Department of Labor and Employment and its attached agencies and with other government and private institutions, PWRDs gain easier access to the programs implemented by the Commission.
