The Employees’ Compensation Commission (ECC) in close coordination with the Department of Labor and Employment Field Office in Iligan City  will hold a one-day Employees’ Compensation Program Seminar on August 19, 2014 at    Plaza AlemaniaHotel in Iligan City.

The entrance free advocacy seminar aims to equip employers and employees representatives with knowledge on the social security benefits for work-related  injury, sickness, disability or death.

Among the topics to be discussed are the three main components of the EC Program namely: prevention, compensation and the rehabilitation services.  The DOLE, on the other hand, will expound on the livelihood and skills training available to the workers and updates on   DOLE programs.

The ECC expects more than a hundred participants   composed of PESO managers, human resource officers, union representatives and employers from various companies inIligan City and nearby areas.

The ECC is mandated by law to provide meaningful and appropriate compensation to workers in the event of work-related contingencies. Its main functions are to formulate policies and guidelines for the effective implementation of the ECP, to review and decide on EC claims denied by the SSS or the GSIS and to initiate policies and programs towards adequate occupational health and safety and accident prevention in the work environment.
