The Employees’ Compensation Commission (ECC), an attached agency of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), together with DOLE-Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), will conduct an Employees’ Compensation Program (ECP) and DOLE Livelihood and Skills Seminar at City light Hotel in Baguio City on 25 October 2012 for at least 100 companies located in Baguio City and nearby provinces to intensify awareness on the ECP and various services of the DOLE.

The advocacy seminar is in pursuance to Labor Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz’s directive to strengthen linkages between attached agencies and DOLE regional offices for harmonious and synchronized implementation of DOLE programs and projects and for the accessibility of social protection and safe work through intensified information campaign.

Deputy Executive Director Jonathan Villasoto will lead the ECC team.  He will give the opening remarks, focusing on the three aspects of the EC Program: the prevention, the compensation, and the rehabilitation services.

Welcome remarks will be delivered by  DOLE-CAR Regional Director Henry John S. Jalbuena.

Aside from a thorough discussion of the ECP, part of the session will focus on the various livelihood programs and services of the DOLE under the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program.

At least 20 media practitioners in CAR are expected to attend the media conference slated on the same date to intensify awareness on the EC Program and DOLE Livelihood and Skills Program.

The seminar is free of charge.  Interested participants may call Gil Datayan, ECC Focal Person for CAR at telephone number 443-5338 or CP#0916-663-1841.
