Tuguegarao City, Cagayan – Amidst the pandemic, the Employees’ Compensation Commission (ECC) is consistent in providing benefits and services for workers who met work-related contingencies but under strict safety protocols. The ECC now delivers its good news to the people through webinars but there are challenges such as reaching employees in grassroots communities where internet and electronic equipments are not accessible. Thus, when Tugegarao City West High School requested for a face to face orientation on the Employees’ Compensation Program (ECP) as part of their school activities, the ECC REU2 responded positively.
ECC Executive Director Stella Zipagan-Banawis said, “Increasing public awareness on the EC programs and services is our ultimate goal, but ensuring the safety of every employee is also our top priority. Hence, even if we allow the conduct of face to face orientations at the moment, we make sure that safety protocols are implemented in the conduct of these activities.”
