ECP awareness campaign. Amid travel restriction, lockdown and quarantine, ECC continuously conduct into dissemination to uniformed personnel in CAR.

Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, the Employees’ Compensation Commission Cordillera Administrative Region (ECC-CAR) actively conducted Information dissemination to various uniformed personnel, who are also considered frontline workers.

To further get the message across to the frontliners and explain in detail the benefits and the filing process, ECC Cordillera Administrative Region Information Officer Dennis Garret Lee visited various checkpoints and triage areas along the borders of Baguio City and the nearby province of Benguet, particularly the municipalities of La Trinidad and Tuba. On one occasion, he walked almost fifteen kilometers to and from the checkpoint of Kennon Road due to the absence of public transportation.

There were various frontline personnel coming from the different government agencies who were manning the checkpoints. Employees from the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Land Transportation Office (LTO) and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH). Information Officer Lee carried with him ECC booklets, flyers and information sheets to give away as references for the frontliners. He also conducted mini lectures that outlined the history, benefits and general information about the ECC especially on how to file for EC claims. He also answered questions and encouraged the employees to visit the ECC website and FB account for more information.

To make his visit memorable and also support the frontliners, Lee brought with him ECC fans and eco bags for the front liner personnel to use. He gave them away after his mini lectures to as many as fifteen employees per checkpoint.

The ECC CAR-REU will continue to advocate the role of the ECC in supporting all employees both in the private and public sectors in the ongoing pandemic situation.

ECC Executive Director Stella Zipagan-Banawis said, “Supporting our frontline employees in this difficult time is the priority of the ECC, whether it be through social media channels or by physically going to their places of assignment, But this is being done with strict observance of health and safety protocols, with ECC personnel doing their best in informing our workforce, we are here to back them up.”
