The Employees’ Compensation Commission (ECC), in close coordination with the Department of Labor & Employment, Region 10 and DOLE Field Office, will conduct its first Employees’ Compensation Program Advocacy Seminar in Bukidnon – The City of Golden Harvest-on February 22, 2017 at the Hotel De Susana & Resort in Valencia City. The one-day free of charge seminar is on a first-come-first-serve basis.

ECC Executive Director Stella Zipagan-Banawis stated that the advocacy seminar aims to ensure that workers are informed of their rights, benefits and privileges under the EC Program.

“The ECC, being an International Standards Organization 9001:2015 certified agency, strives for continual improvement in its services provided to the public and strengthen its information campaign not only on the three (3) components of the EC Program namely – prevention, compensation and rehabilitation services but focusing more on the recent EC Program reforms. These reforms are anchored on “3Es”- Equalize, Enhance and Expand EC Benefits to improve the EC Program,” Banawis added.

More than 100 participants, composed mostly of employers, human resource officers and company representatives of various establishments and government agencies including members of AFP, PNP, BFP and BJMP from different precincts/stations and nearby provinces in Valencia City, are expected to attend the seminar.

Aside from a thorough discussion on the package of EC Program benefits and services to public and private sector employees in the event of work-connected sickness, injury or death, time will also be allotted for the promotion of the various programs, projects and services of DOLE Region 10 – Field Office.

A press conference, in coordination with the PIA-Region 10, will be held at the Luxe Hotel, Limketkai Center, Cagayan de Oro City on February 21, 2017 at 9:00 am, to set the tone for the next day’s advocacy seminar.

Consultation meetings with the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) and Social Security System (SSS) Northern Mindanao Cluster are scheduled on February 21, 2017 to provide them with updates on recent EC issuances.
