The Employees’ Compensation Commission will hold an Employees’ Compensation Program Advocacy Seminar at the East Asia Royale Hotel in General Santos City on November 28, 2017. It is the 2rd ECP advocacy seminar in this city after five years. The ECP aims to assist workers who suffer from work-connected sickness or injury which resulted to disability or death.
With the thriving businesses and sprouting of new establishments in the city, the ECC needs to make sure that owners of establishments as well as their workers are updated on all statutory benefits especially on their rights, benefits and privileges under the EC Program.
The one-day free admission seminar will be participated by more than 150 human resource officers, employers and labor union representatives, coming from various private establishments and government agencies including uniformed personnel from the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine National Police, Philippine Navy and Bureau of Fire Protection.
Executive Director Stella Zipagan-Banawis said that aside from strengthening awareness on the three components of the EC Program, namely – prevention, compensation and rehabilitation services, the seminar will also comprehensively discuss the recent EC Program reforms anchored on the “3Es”- Equalized, Enhanced and Expand strategies, in response to the challenges facing the EC Program.
