On March 29, 2012, the Employees’ Compensation Commission (ECC), in collaboration with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Regional Office No. 3, will hold a one-day seminar on the Employees’ Compensation and DOLE Livelihood Programs  for at least 100 companies  located in Clark, Pampanga and nearby provinces.

The ECC and the DOLE aim to intensify awareness on the Employees’ Compensation Program (ECP) and various DOLE livelihood programs and services.  The one-day seminar is free of charge and its target participants are the employers, human resource officers, administrative officers and the union representatives of  wholesale and retail trade, transport, telecommunication, BPO’s, manufacturing, hotel, school and other educational institutions and fishing industry,

The advocacy seminar is in line with Labor Secretary Rosalinda-Dimapilis Baldoz’ call to enhance the provision of social protection to workers and strengthen linkages between attached agencies and DOLE regional offices for harmonious and synchronized implementation of DOLE Programs and projects.

The ECP seminar has three main components, namely: prevention, compensation and the rehabilitation service. Resource speakers from the ECC will discuss about the Basic Accident Prevention and Occupational Safety and Health and the benefits that may be availed of under the EC Program and the rehabilitation services for occupationally-disabled workers (ODWs).  A representative from DOLE RO3 will talk about the various livelihood programs and services of the DOLE   under the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program.
