San Fernando City, La Union – The Employees’ Compensation Commission (ECC) through Regional Extension Unit (REU) Officer Dexter Dupagan recently conducted an Employees’ Compensation Program (ECP) orientation to around 100 personnel of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)-Regional Office 1 based in La Union and to some officers assigned at various local government units in La Union.

“We have learned of this free webinar through the ECC Facebook page and we find it relevant in promoting the welfare of our staff especially during this pandemic,” said Dr. Mary Grace Del Castillo, Section Head, Human Resource Welfare Section of the DSWD Regional Office 1. “Thank you for continuously being our partner in supporting the needs of our valued workforce.”

On May 27, 2021, Dupagan served as one of the speakers during the Pangasinan Government Information Officers’ Association (PAGIOA) Virtual General Assembly. PAGIOA is a group of information officers from national line agencies and local government units in Pangasinan.

The said group requested ECC to discuss its recent reforms and policies, particularly COVID-19 as the newly identified occupational and work-related disease under PD 626, as amended.

The ECC regularly conducts free ECP webinar to its stakeholders.

As the result of efforts in strengthening ECC’s online presence in the region, a number of requests for an EC program webinar are increasing from both public and private sector.

Aside from online seminars, ECC introduced a chatbot facility with an ECC representative on its Facebook page and the ECC website for 24/7 online public assistance service.

The chatbot is programmed to answer frequently asked questions (FAQs) about the ECC and its programs.
