TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
I. BUILDING RELATIONSHIP WITH STAKEHOLDERS (Basic)
Ability to build stakeholder relationships and leverage coalition in the implementation of plans, programs, policies, and activities geared toward the achievement of strategic intents of ECC.
- Builds relationship with stakeholders, the Labor sector and related organizations, and other ECC-identified stakeholders by following through on commitments, respecting confidentiality, and demonstrating an interest in work-related issues and activities
- Proactively works to effectively communicate with stakeholders concerning their on-going needs within the working relationship; ensures a real understanding of the needs of the other party
II. MEDIA AND PUBLIC RELATIONS (Basic)
Ability to promote ECC to various public and media outlets through various means of communication.
- Recognizes the desired promotional media mileage based on the communications strategies and plans of ECC
- Provides final proof of media materials and oversees process handovers through to distribution
- Interacts with press and mass media practitioners
III. ARTISTIC SKILLS (Basic)
Ability to create visual images from verbal or written description to transform ideas or information on a given subject matter for production and publications.
- Understands and visualizes content of the desired artwork/illustration
- Provides proof of illustration/drawing prior to final artwork
IV. MESSAGE DEVELOPMENT AND DELIVERY (Basic)
Ability to strategically develop messages for various audiences and effectively deliver them by evaluating the most appropriate media channel/s for the particular needs of its target audience.
- Knowledge of the production, communication and dissemination of information and ideas to inform via written, oral, electronic, and visual media
- Analyzes information needs and determines/develops an information plan and communications materials to meet these needs
V. PROVIDING SUPPORT AND SERVICES (Intermediate)
Ability to provide support and services in order to meet the administrative/ clerical requirements of the office.
- Recognizes opportunities to offer suggestions or alternatives to team members and explains the implications, benefits and disadvantages.
- Diplomatically negotiates deadlines, in light of needs, available options and resources
VI. RECORDS MANAGEMENT (Intermediate)
Ability to establish a system of procedure in recording and safekeeping of documents for ease in locating and retrieval of records and documents.
- Adapts records management standards, including government policies on period of retention and best practices, effectively in the institutional context
- Applies range of records management tools and techniques
