The Employees’ Compensation Commission (ECC), in close coordination with the Department of Labor and Employment Reg. 6, has invited more than 100 company owners, human resource officers and labor union representatives on its Employees’ Compensation Program (ECP) Advocacy Seminar at the Sampaguita Gardens, Poblacion, New Washington, Aklan on April 26, 2018.

The activity was organized in a bid to intensify public awareness on the rights, benefits and privileges under the EC Program.

ECC Executive Director Stella Zipagan-Banawis said that the one-day, free of charge, seminar aims to promote safety consciousness and the importance of accident prevention in the workplace, procedures in EC filing, as well as provide information on how to avail benefits and services under the EC Program.

The ECC, being an ISO 9001:2015 certified agency, strengthens its information campaign not only on the three components of the EC Program namely- prevention, compensation and rehabilitation services but focusing also on the recent EC Program reforms. These reforms are anchored on the “3Es”-Equalize, Enhance and Expand strategy in response to the challenges facing the EC Program.

Government agencies administrative officers, uniformed personnel of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine National Police, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, Philippine Navy, Philippine Air Force and their civilian personnel are also invited to attend this activity.

ECC is an attached agency of DOLE that is mandated by law to provide meaningful and appropriate compensation benefits and services to workers in the event of work-related sickness, injury or death.
