Talisay City, Negros Occidental — The Employees’ Compensation Commission (ECC) recently reaffirmed its commitment to protecting workers’ welfare during the Labor-Management Cooperation (LMC) Month and Women’s Month Celebration at Nature’s Village Resort, Talisay City.
The event saw a total of 121 participants from 57 companies, with females making up the majority of attendees. It was held in collaboration with the Association of Labor-Management Councils – Negros Occidental Chapter, Inc. (ALMC-NOC, Inc.) and the National Conciliation and Mediation Board – Regional Branch VI. This year’s celebration carried the theme, “Partnering for Progress: Women, Labor, and Management United.”
As part of the event’s sessions, invited guest speaker and representative, Atty. Stephene Barredo, ECC Regional Officer, delivered a talk on the Employees’ Compensation Commission’s key improvements in workers’ compensation benefits and ongoing initiatives, aimed at enhancing support for employees facing work-related contingencies.
In line with this, ECC Executive Director Atty. Kaima Via Velasquez, stated that the Commission’s involvement in the celebration affirms its commitment to supporting the government’s efforts in advancing the welfare of women in both the public and private sectors.
The ECC emphasized its focus on gender-responsive social protection programs and continues to develop policies that address unique challenges faced by women in the workforce, ensuring equitable access to rehabilitation services and benefits.
The ECC’s active participation reinforces its goal to maintain workplace safety, employees’ rights, and gender equality, to strengthen the initiative of a supportive and resilient work environment.
