The Employees’ Compensation Commission (ECC) is proud to have joined in the Gender and Development (GAD) Conference organized by the Governance Commission for Government-Owned and Controlled Corporations (GCG), themed “We GADther Together, We GatHER to Empower” on March 20, 2024 at the Philippine International Convention Center, Pasay City. The event brought together key government agencies to promote gender equality, women empowerment, and gender-sensitive practices in the workplace.
In the opening remarks of GCG Chairperson Atty. Marius P. Corpus, he highlighted gender equality, inclusivity, and women’s empowerment as pivotal values in discussing corporate governance.
The conference provided a platform for agencies to discuss best practices, share insights, and further strengthen their commitment to integrating gender and development principles into their policies and programs. Some of the invited speakers were top officials from PCW, CSC, GSIS, MWSS, CDC, LBP, TPB, and the DBM Secretary as the Keynote Speaker.
In the closing remarks of GCG Commissioner Atty. Geraldine Marie B. Berberabe-Martinez, she emphasized the GCG’s determination to explore ways of improving the gender ratio or gender gap within the Governing Boards of the GOCCs.
The ECC’s participation in this conference is part of its ongoing commitment to promoting gender equity. The Commission looks forward to continuing its work with other government agencies in implementing gender-responsive policies and programs that benefit all Filipinos.
