AGNO, PANGASINAN – The Employees’ Compensation Commission Regional Extension Unit 1 conducted a two-day Employees’ Compensation Program orientation to more than 120 elementary and secondary public school teachers last May 3 and 4, 2018.
The ECP orientation was in partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd) District of Agno.
“We are very thankful for the opportunity given to us to attend this information dissemination campaign about ECP. As government employees, it is important that we are aware of our compensation particularly the benefits we may avail under the ECC,” said Schools District Supervisor Melinda Nagal.
The orientation aimed to empower and strengthen the awareness of public school teachers of their rights, benefits and privileges under ECP. Further, participants were urged to become advocates of ECP by sharing the information to their families, friends and fellow workers.
ECC-REU 1 Regional Officer Dexter Dupagan oriented the participants about the EC Program. He discussed the benefits and services employees may avail if they suffer from a work-related contingency.
Dupagan reminded the participants that though there is an ECP, it is still more important that employees prioritize their safety and health in their respective workplace.
“We learned a lot. Attending this orientation is probably the best decision we made today. We thank ECC and DepEd for organizing this activity,” said Winston Sagun, Principal 1 of Cayungnan Elementary School.
The two-day orientation was in collaboration with the Holcim Mining Development Corporation (HMDC) under their Corporate Social Responsibility program.
