COTABATO CITY – More than 100 employees and employers representing 64 companies both from the public and private sector attended the Area-wide Labor Education Orientation Seminar on April 5, 2018 at the Sardonyx Restaurant. The activity, which is a convergence seminar of government agencies, was organized by the National Conciliation and Mediation Board Region 12.

Topics discussed during the seminar include Occupational Safety and Health Program, Due Process and Administrative Investigation in Private Companies, Productivity 101, Employees’ Compensation Program and other Department of Labor and Employment programs.

ECC, represented by Regional Officer Christopher Gamboa, oriented the participants about the EC Program. He emphasized the importance of knowing the program and the benefits and services employees may avail if they suffer from work-related contingency.

Gamboa also discussed the compensation and rehabilitation components of the EC Program. He likewise highlighted the recent EC program reforms anchored on the “3Es” – Equalize, Enhance and Expand strategies in response to the challenges facing the EC Program.

“Ngayon ko lang po nalaman ang tungkol sa benepisyo na maaring makuha ng isang empleyado sa ECC. Nagpapasalamat po ako na nagkaroon ng ganitong klaseng seminar ditto sa amin upang mapalawak pa ang kaalaman naming pagdating sa mga programa at serbisyo n gating gobyerno,” said Ma. Lourdes Mustapha, one of the participants of the seminar.
