Cebu City – Southwestern University (SWU) Medical Center previously known as Sacred Heart Hospital recently renewed its partnership with the Employees’ Compensation Commission (ECC), an attached agency of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) to provide rehabilitation services through physical and occupational therapy to persons with work-related disability (PWRD) under the ECC-Katulong at Gabay sa Manggagawang may Kapansanan (KaGabay) Program.

The EC-KaGabay Program aims to help the victims of work-related sickness or injuries get back on their toes and be productive members of society.  Under this program, the PWRDs can also avail of rehabilitation appliances such as wheelchairs, crutches, and hearing aid.  The prostheses will be provided too to those amputees for free.

It is also our way of promoting overall wellness of all PWRDs that in the event of illness and accidents, we are here to help,” said the Southwestern University Medical Center Vice President for Hospital Operations Herman Esling.
