ZAMBOANGA CITY – The Employees’ Compensation Commission (ECC) and the West Metro Medical Center formally seated their “execlusive partnership” to facilitate the Rehabilitation needs of workers who experienced work-related accidents or injuries on June 15, 2017.

ECC, an attached agency of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), champions the Social Protection of Workers in the event of any work-related contingencies though it’s Employees’ Compensation Program (ECP) which provides a bundle of programs and services for workers and their families in the event of work-related contingencies. Through the leadership of Exec. Dir. Stella Zipagan-Banawis, ECC was able to strengthen and improve its program and benefits in the past 5 years. True to its commitment to the Filipino workforce, ECC has been meticulously sourcing out excellent partners for their rehabilitation program.

The West Metro Medical Center, operated by Metro Pacific Zamboanga Hospital Corporation, a member of Metro Pacific Hospital Holdings, Inc., is one of the country’s largest chain of private hospitals. Presently, West Metro hosts one of the biggest rehabilitation centers in Zamboanga Peninsula.

As a result of the partnership, ECC shall be referring qualified clients for rehabilitation services such as Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy to West Metro. Laboratory examinations and prescribed medicines shall also shouldered by the ECP.
