Baguio City- The Employees’ Compensation Commission (ECC), an attached agency of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), recently established partnership with Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC), by signing a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to provide rehabilitation services to occupationally disabled workers (ODWs) under the ECC’s Katulong at Gabay sa Manggagawang may Kapansanan (KAGABAY) Program.
The KaGabay Program aims to integrate ODWs into the economic mainstream through granting of physical or occupational therapy services. These services can be availed of by workers with approved EC disability benefits from the SSS for the private sector including sea-based OFWs with manning agencies based in the Philippines, and the Government Service Insurance System for the public sector.
The MOA provide that ODWs, who are in need of physical restoration therapy, should be referred by ECC to the BGHMC. This aims to integrate the ODWs as productive members of society.
BGHMC will render physical or occupational rehabilitation therapy services to the referred ODWs. These services are free of charge for the ODWs.
ECC CAR is located at the DOLE, CAR Office in Cabinet Hills, Baguio City.
