The Employees’ Compensation Commission (ECC) has recently launched an innovative means of increasing the public’s awareness of the Employees’ Compensation Program (ECP) through train wrap ads.
The ECC’s train wrap project utilized one of the trains traversing the LRT-2 line to promote the ECP to the public, most especially the workers, and inform them of their benefits under the program in the event of work-related injuries, diseases or death.
Inside the train, passengers are provided with information about the ECP’s benefits and services while the train itself is wrapped with an advertisement which will inform the passengers waiting at the eleven stations of LRT 2.
There is also an information booth located at the Recto Station of the LRT-2 where passengers can get information materials about the program.
The information drive will run for three months.
The Light Rail Transit (LRT) Line 2 caters to more than 200,000 passengers on a daily basis with trains plying the routes from C.M. Recto, Manila to Santolan, Marikina.
In 2015, the Information and Public Assistance Division (IPAD) of the ECC installed tarpaulins at the LRT, MRT and PNR stations promoting the program and encourage persons with work-related disability to avail of their benefits and services under the ECP.
ECC Executive Director Stella Zipagan-Banawis said, “Accomplishing way beyond the target has become a way of doing things in ECC. Maximum use of social media, advertisements and technology-based info campaign is being looked into for better and wide-reaching information dissemination.”
“Through these advertisements, we are inching our way closer towards the general public. We are looking forward to more activities that will further intensify ECP awareness for the public and for the PWRDs to gain access to ECC’s programs and services”, Banawis added.
