Tuguegarao City, Cagayan – The Employees’ Compensation Commission (ECC) – Regional Extension Unit 2, in partnership with the National Reintegration Center for OFWs (NRCO), has conducted a one-day Entrepreneurial Development Training for thirteen persons with work related disabilities (PWRDs) with approved EC benefits at the ECC REU 2 Office, 2nd Floor VillRose Building, Arellano St., Tuguegarao City.
The said training was aimed to capacitate the trainees on how to manage a small business enterprise, specifically in ensuring its financial stability in preparation for the livelihood assistance to be provided by ECC.
The assistance is part of the agency’s program to help bring the PWRDs back to the economic mainstream and to help them regain their self-esteem which they lost or has dissipated due to their disabilities.
The ECC assistance amounting to P20,000 – P30,000 will be given in the form of goods listed by the beneficiaries which will serve as their starter kits in their livelihood request.
“Our workers’ welfare had always been our priority. We want to assure them that from their first day of employment until their last day they are insured and that whatever work contingencies may happen, they will be assisted financially and/or through livelihood interventions so as to ensure their economic stability despite their disability,” ECC Executive Director Stella Zipagan-Banawis said.
