The Employees’ Compensation Commission will hold a one-day free of charge advocacy seminar on November 26, 2015 at the City Light Hotel, Baguio City, for public and private employers, human relations officers and union officers to intensify awareness on the Employees’ Compensation Program.

The program addresses the call of Labor and Employment Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz to keep the public abreast on the social protection and safe work programs available to employees and employers in the private and public sector.

With the close coordination of the Department of Labor and Employment-CAR,   more than 120 participants coming from various private enterprises, government agencies including uniformed personnel from the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine National Police, Philippine Navy, Bureau of Fire Protection, from nearby areas in the Cordillera Administrative Region  are expected to attend the said seminar.

The seminar objective is to promote the three components of the EC Program namely – the preventive, compensation and rehabilitation services including the ECC-Quick Response and the Katulong at Gabay sa Manggagawang may Kapansanan or KaGabay Program.

Corollary to this, the ECC also slated two activities. At around 9:00 in the morning, on November 25, 2015, a consultation meeting with the Social Security System representatives to clarify compliance with the rules of procedures on disposition of EC claims and to resolve issues in the EC Program implementation.

At 4:00 in the afternoon, a press conference in coordination with the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) – CAR was arranged at the same hotel to impart the EC Program to the media partners in Baguio City  and to promote the ECP thru quad-media.

The Employees’ Compensation Program (ECP) is a government program designed to provide a compensation package to public and private employees or their dependents in the event of work-related sickness, injury or death.
