The Employees’ Compensation Commission (ECC), an attached agency of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), together with the DOLE Regional Office No. 6, will conduct  an awareness drive on the Employees’ Compensation Program (ECP) and DOLE livelihood and skills seminar for more than 100 companies at O Hotel in Bacolod City on 23 August 2012,  Labor and Employment Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz announced yesterday.

“The one-day seminar aimed at increasing employers as well as the workers  awareness on the EC Program and the various skills and livelihood programs of the DOLE,”    Secretary Baldoz  said.

According to Secretary Baldoz,  it’s been DOLE’s aim to strengthen  convergence activities among its  attached agencies,  DOLE regional offices and the private sector for synchronized implementation of DOLE programs, projects and activities.

ECC Executive Director Stella Zipagan-Banawis will lead the ECC Team.  Citing the highlight of the seminar,  Banawis said:  “Discussion will focus mainly on the three aspects of the EC Program,  namely:  prevention,  compensation and  rehabilitation service.”

“The Bacolod ECP advocacy seminar is our fourth stop this year after doing the same in regions 3, 5 and 11.  We hope to replicate this activity in Cordillera Administrative Region and  Caraga Region (Region 13) to bring the Employees’ Compensation Program closer to the workers,” Director Banawis  finally said.

Director Banawis and Director Ligutom will serve as resource persons in a press conference  which will be conducted  in the morning of  22 August 2012 at the O Hotel.
