Legazpi City – Upon learning the electrocution incident of the lineman from Albay Power and Energy Corporation, the Employees’ Compensation Commission (ECC) Regional Extension Unit V (REU5) searched the beneficiaries of the said victim.

In a report conducted by DOLE Region V it was disclosed that Mark Anthony Maraya, 28, was caught off-balance which resulted to his electrocution while in the process of energizing a private transformer in Tuburan, Ligao City.

ECC-REU5 immediately conducted a funeral-visit through its Quick Response Program (QRP) in Basud San Rafael, Guinobatan, Albay and found out that Maraya has left a four-year-old daughter to his live-in partner Rosalyn Moratillo.

Because the victim is not married, Maraya’s parents will be acknowledged as his secondary beneficiaries, including his daughter.

REU5 also informed the beneficiaries about the funeral and death benefits they could claim under the Employees’ Compensation Program (ECP).

ECC-QRP is being carried out to immediately assist the workers or their families who have to deal with work-accidents or sudden onset of occupational disease or death in the form of psycho-social counseling and assistance in the filing of EC claim with the GSIS and SSS.
